Terms of Service
These terms cover the GitTrail desktop app, the GitTrail account at account.gittrail.com and GitTrail Pro. By using GitTrail you agree to them.
Who sells GitTrail
GitTrail is made by [Your full legal name], an individual trading as GitTrail ("we"). Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it handles payment, invoices, sales tax and VAT, refunds and billing questions, under its own buyer terms.
Free and Pro
- Free costs nothing and doesn't expire. It includes accounts, folder rules and everyday Git.
- Pro is a subscription that adds the features listed on the pricing page. It renews each billing period until you cancel.
Your license is for you, on any number of your own computers. Don't share, resell or work around it.
Billing, renewal and cancelling
Prices are shown at checkout, including any tax. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period. You can cancel at any time from your account (Manage billing); Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and then the app goes back to Free. Your repositories and settings aren't affected.
Refunds are described in the Refund Policy.
Offline license
The app checks your plan on your computer with a signed license, so it works offline. The license lasts 30 days, plus 14 days of grace, and is renewed when you click Refresh or Sign in. If it runs out, the app works as Free until it's renewed.
Your work
Your repositories, code and Git history stay on your computer and with the Git hosts you choose. We don't claim any rights to them. GitTrail runs Git commands for you; review changes and keep backups before rewriting shared history.
Acceptable use
Don't use GitTrail or your account to break the law, attack other systems, or get around a Git host's rules or another person's access. We may close accounts that do.
Third-party services
GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps and other hosts you connect have their own terms. Sign-in to your GitTrail account is provided by Clerk, and payments by Paddle.com.
Warranty and liability
GitTrail is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for important changes tell Pro customers by email before they take effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Your country], without taking away the protection of the consumer laws where you live.
Git trademark
GitTrail is not affiliated with the Git project. Host names identify compatible services and belong to their owners.
